Kendall County Forest Protect Awarded $828,200 Grant for Renovation of Pickerill Dwelling

Governor JB Pritzker introduced previous Monday that the Kendall County Forest Protect has been awarded an $828,200 grant from the Illinois Office of All-natural Sources Leisure Facility Building Act Grant Software for renovation of the Ken and Jackie Pickerill estate home at the Pickerill-Pigott Forest Maintain at 6350 Minkler Rd. in Yorkville.

The grant will help finance a improvement job to renovate and update the Pickerill Estate Home with ADA renovations and development of an adjoining open-air pavilion.

The Kendall County Forest Preserve’s demanded match will be $279,599, with a complete coast of $1,107,799.

Kendall County Forest Protect Director David Guritz spoke about the grant.

The Pickerill-Pigott Forest Maintain is scheduled to open to the community on June 4 of this calendar year.

Guritz stated the design and style operate on the house will also get started this yr, with genuine development commencing in 2022.  The Pickerill property renovation should really be done next year.

The Pickerill household and land totaled 29.5 acres. The remaining 69.3 acres of the Pickerill-Pigott Forest Preserve was ordered from the Pigott loved ones in 2008 for $4.27 million.
