HINSDALE, IL — Hinsdale Higher College District 86 board customers got a shock previous week: The renovation of Central High’s previous pool building is set to price a whole lot a lot more than they were initially informed.
In May well, officials explained to the board that the renovation of the outdated creating would expense $870,000. But at previous week’s meeting, they stated the total had risen to $1.4 million, far more than 60 p.c bigger.
One of the major causes for the improved value is electrical updates, stated Nick Graal, an architect with Arcon. The task contains fire alarm improvements, substitution of minimal-voltage wiring and repairs of dilapidated lighting, he reported.
The current alarm method could have been grandfathered in, Graal explained, but the university felt it was ideal to do these types of daily life-security do the job now.
